Intro

There 2 ways to do it:

  • Time standards based on Earth rotation.
  • Light-sensing.

Time standards method

Components

  • DCF77 receiver
  • LCD display

How it works?

  • DCF77 receiver gives the UTC datetime for radio.
  • Based on location and datetime, azimuth and angle are given from time standards.
  • Informations are diplayed on LCD screen.

Light-sensing method

Components

  • Photo-resistors
  • Servo motors
  • LCD display

How it works?

  • “Head” move on azimuth and vertical axis to scan light with photo-resistors.
  • Compute light level from photo-resistors 2-by-2 (top-bottom, left-right)
  • If levels are different from both photo-resistor, then move in direction of the brightest.
  • Finally, display azimuth and angle on LCD screen.
